Our Side Projects and Groups
Our talented improvisational actors also appear in a number of spin-off groups that perform scripted and unscripted shows in our After Hours shows.
ComedySportz Portland's Side Projects:
The BEE Word - an improvised spelling bee. Audience members provide the words used during the bee, ranging from "ant" to "zeitgeist" and beyond.
Harold Haase - Bill Cernansky wants to be the worst player on stage. He invites the best improvisors in Portland to join him in long-form performances. His theory: surrounding yourself with incredible talent makes you look brilliant. Bill is right.
Moist Splendor - a completely improvised adventure into interpersonal relationships.
MST - The Mystery Science Tribute show. Actors improvise a B-movie while commentators make fun of it.
Peachy Chicken - a freewheeling, surprising, always irreverent, sometimes poignant, and often raunchy examination of audience suggestions.
Stand-up At ComedySportz Portland - 2 shows: open mic and stand-up showcase.
Possaluma County - our multi-season soap opera with recurring characters.
Shakesprov - improv in the style of the greatest dead playwright.
Theater of the Mind - Curt Frye demonstrates the skills theater
professionals use to create what you see on stage, with a little help from
the art of magic.
Thinking People's Theatre tours issues-oriented scripted theatre for young people to schools and other groups.
