Harold Haase
In late 2003, ComedySportz improvisor Bill Cernansky conceived a show in
which he would invite the best improvisors in Portland to join him in a
long-form performance.
His goal: to be the worst improvisor on stage--by surrounding himself
with incredible talent. He succeeded.
His theory: playing with top-notch improvisors makes you look brilliant.
He was right.
The "Harold" is the classic long-form structure created by Chicago
improv legend Del Close. It has been one of the driving forces of
character-based improvisational theater.
Harold Haase was Bill's grandfather and was one of the driving forces
behind Bill's sense of humor. The first Harold Haase show took place on
Harold Haase's birthday, April 2, 2004, as a tribute to this warm, funny
man.
The cast differs from show to show. The following outstanding talents
have joined Bill onstage:
John Breen
Brad Fortier
Amy Gray
Betse Green
Phil Incorvia
Merrily Jackson
Craig McCarty
Kent McCarty
Alan McNeely
Jennette Zarko
Thanks, Grandpa.
