Concerto for Piano and Mime
Not your usual run of the mill improv. (Not that very much of that happens around here, but this is different!)
Concerto for Piano and Mime is
one of those art forms that defies categorization. Seven to eight
pieces are created using suggestions from the audience. These form the
titles for the music that Knute Snortum plays, and Mary Pat McCoy and
Amy Gray act out using pantomime, character, dance, and drama. Each
piece forms a story through music and movement, sometimes whimsical,
sometimes poignant, always entertaining and fully improvised. Though
literalists may wonder where the orchestra and grease paint is, most
will thoroughly enjoy this absurd romp through the magic of imagination
and improv.
