2007 Northwest College Improv Tournament
The Third Annual NWCIT was as exciting as the first two, as expected since the 2005 Champion University of Portland and the 2006 Champion Portland Community College were in competition with newcomer Linfield College. Luck of the draw had the two previous Champions meeting in the first match as University of Portland’s Green Caffeine pulled out a one-point victory, winning Story, Do Do Run Run and 185, over the Tugboats. They knew they would meet a worthy opponent when Linfield’s Awkward Moose handily bested the exhibition team from Farm Team University, scoring high in every round.
The final began with character-based games Switch Interview, Dime Store Novel and new-to-us-but-not-to-Linfield PsychoDate. It continued to be a tight match throughout an excellent Mega Replay, and the scene games of New Choice and Countdown. Not until the final Last Action Joke did referee John Dieffenderfer declare the winner, by a score of 19 to 18, Green Caffeine from University of Portland, now a two-time Champion!
