ComedySportz Fundraiser for Hurricane Relief
Dear Fans,
Our thoughts are with the people of New Orleans, and the Gulf Coast
areas of Mississippi and Alabama. We have a close connection to the
area; ComedySportz New Orleans
joined our World Comedy League and opened in December of 2004.
Our Screaming Mee-Mees group appeared last October at the Southern
Improv Festival, hosted by the same great folks. New Orleans is a
unique and great city, and the people are wonderful. The CSz
crew, led by Yvonne Landry, are terrific folks - and we send our best
to Dan, Arthur, Chris, Ian, Rachel and the rest. We know they're
all safe, but they're in a world of hurt.
When the magnitude of the Katrina disaster became apparent, our players began discussing an appropriate and quick response.
We have chosen to donate the proceeds from this Friday's show (Sept 2 at 8 p.m.) to Northwest Medical Teams. Portland-based Northwest Medical Teams bring out the best in human nature, any time there's a disaster, anywhere in the world.
The process is simple - you come to our show at the $12 regular price
(or $10 advance purchase price) - we write a check for total amount to
NW Medical Teams. We'll also have a jar for additional donations.
We placed a call to NW Medical Teams on Wednesday for approval to make
this an official fundraiser; we have not heard back yet - they might be
a little busy. Even if this ends up as "unofficial", we're
donating the money, and we're telling you how you can help.
Friday is a very special show - and the effort involves England and the US! Bron Edge and Steven Catterall from CSzUK
(Chorley, Lancashire in England) will be playing with us on Friday ONLY
and helping with our relief efforts. Both Bron and Steven will captain
our teams, and the show promises to be fantastic - with a Lancashire
accent!

Bron and Steven will also join us at 10 p.m. Friday for a very special Possaluma County, our After Hours show. That show is $5 (or free to folks who see the 8:00pm show), and we'll donate that money to NW Medical Teams, too.
