| Luke Dempsey of ComedySportz Portland performed with Greg Proops of ABC-TVs Whose Line Is It Anyway at the ComedySportz World Championships in Washington, D.C. | ComedySportz Portland is a member of the World Comedy League and one of over 20 ComedySportz cities in the USA and Europe. We meet annually for the World Comedy Championships, which will be held this year right here in Portland from July 30 - August 2nd!
Portland hosted – and won – the 1999 World Comedy Championship, and has participated annually since 1993.
Some of the newer members of the WCL are New York, NY; New Orleans; Chapel Hill, NC and Chorley, Lancs, UK. We're very excited to be part of a world-wide organization.
Team owners of the World Comedy League meet annually to establish rule changes, trade players and vote on important ComedySportz-related issues. We are proud that ComedySportz has not suffered the strikes and lockouts plaguing other professional sports. This is attributed partially to our forward-thinking, longstanding labor agreement, but mostly to the fact that we're all happy, friendly people.
