Our Oregon Story

The ComedySportz Oregon Story, as told at myoregonstory.com.

The State of Oregon's "Brand Oregon" initiative asked Oregon businesses to tell their Oregon story, and ComedySportz had a great Oregon story to tell.

In 1992, our founders, Patrick Short and Ruth Jenkins, came to Oregon with the dream of starting an improvisational comedy theatre that would be a part of the community – giving laughter to our fans, and donating our time (and some of our profits) to make our home a better place.

In Oregon, Pat and Ruth found a home, and a home for ComedySportz. Oregon is a state that says "Yes!" to business, to ideas, to creativity and to laughter.

The Oregon slogan for this campaign was "We Love Dreamers," and we think that describes ComedySportz perfectly – a family of performers who have been able to realize their dreams thanks to the support we've received from our Oregon (and Southwest Washington) fans.

We told the ComedySportz story on the  Brand Oregon Web site. The stories aren't up any more, but our story keeps going and growing.
